RUSSIAN GULCH
(BEACH / BOAT / KAYAK DIVES)
SKILL LEVEL: NOVICE TO ADVANCED)

Russian Gulch is a very popular destination for divers and anyone who just wants to get back to nature for a while. The abalone diving and spear fishing are excellent in this area, and Jughandle reserve is only a few miles away. The campground at this area gets packed in the summer time, and reservations are usually required for the weekend. The campsites are large, the woods are beautiful, and the access to the ocean doesn't get much better. This is an excellent spot to launch a kayak or inflatable boat. The beach diving is also good off of both the North and South sides.

Because of the proximity of cliffs on both the South and North sides, this cove is normally extremely protected and is a popular destination for novice and expert divers alike. The cove offers a great spot for a tune up dive for those who haven't been on Scuba for a while.

The decision to dive (or not) is your responsibility. Keep diving activities within your training and comfort level. If you feel more training or experience is needed before attempting a dive, don't dive. Know personal limits, skill levels, and abilities of yourself and your dive buddy. Dive Safely and Dive Often!
