LAKE TAHOE - North Shore
Cal-Neva Wall or Stateline Wall, adjacent to Crystal Bay casino.

(BEACH DIVES) - (SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED)

The only beach access to the Cal-Neva Wall (Stateline Wall) that I know of is from Speedboat Beach. Use the directions given for "Speedboat Beach". It takes about 40 minutes to surface swim from Speedboat Beach to the descent point for the Cal-Neva Wall, which is the next point to the East. Once in front of the point you will begin to notice many large granite boulders in about 35-40 feet of water. The actual wall is about 100-200 yards East of these rocks. The bottom slopes very gradually and suddenly it abruptly drops off. The wall appears to be sand, and occasionally large rocks will appear above the sand. The bottom here is the deepest part of Lake Tahoe and is over 1600 feet deep. This is an Advanced dive which requires good buoyancy control.
